My auto dial feature does not seem to work. It will recognize my contact and bring up the screen with the default number, but will not auto dial. I have checked all the settings. Am I doing something wrong?

I have the Iphone 3G with firmware 3.0 and the program does not auto dial. It prompts me after it finds the number. That defeats the whole purpose of the auto dial feature. When I watch the demo it shows the program auto dialing after the number is located. Is there something that i am missing?
